FFXIV 6.4 Patch Notification
Part of this patch is the long-awaited final chapter of the Anabaseios Pandemonium Assault phase. With the continuation of the questline, as well as 4 new normal attacks to enter.
However, you will have to be patient with Savage. The Anabaseios Savage level will open next week, May 30, which also marks the start of another race for world number one.
So if you are interested in participating or getting a clear result in the first week, be sure to cover the stones.
This patch will also introduce the next chapter of the main mission scenario, which will likely also mark the end of the current post-Endwalker storyline.
From this point on, the story will change as usual, leading to the next expansion 7.0, which we expect early next year.
As always, part of MSQ is a new dungeon called Aetherfont, as well as a trial called The Void Cast Dias. This trial version will also be available on extreme difficulty after first completion.
PvE quest balance changes
Before we get to the big changes, we need to discuss what has changed overall.
Most group skills now have a range of 30 Yalm instead of 15. This means they should now cover most of the battlefield depending on the arena.
Additionally, a few minor changes have been made here and there to better align the individual damage of some jobs with the damage of others in their role. And somehow the samurai got stronger to have the best DPS again.
Samurai

Tenka Goken | Effect radius increased from 5 to 8 Yalma. | |

Kaeshi: Namikiri | Strength increased from 800 to 860. |
But we see the biggest changes in this role. While the Dark Knight was king in terms of raw damage in the Endwalker update cycle, everyone else didn't get the buffs they needed to stop.

Why they felt the need to upgrade Warrior despite his already insane survivability is beyond us, but you can read the developers' reasoningHere.
Dragoon is the only company that has undergone a major overhaul. Until there were crazy buffs. Still, it was the best DPS of recent months.
The biggest change to Dragoon is the way the base game works. Previously, Dragoon's various jumping abilities had been fixed for a while.
Now these jumps only have a visual indicator and do not change the player's position. This means that bindings can now be performed as well.
Dragons
action | Stan | |
---|---|---|
Shock | Can now cast while bound. To improve the functionality of this action, Jump no longer affects the position of the character detected by the server. The camera no longer follows your character when you use Jump. | |
battle litany | Effect radius increased from 15 to 30 Yalma. | |
dragon gaze | Now he denies requests to direct the actions to himself. | |
high jump | Can now cast while bound. To improve the functionality of this action, "high jump" no longer affects the position of the character detected by the server. The camera no longer follows your character while jumping. |
changes in quality of life
The new patch for Final Fantasy XIV also brings some UI and gameplay improvements.
One of the smaller but highly appreciated changes is the ability to display quest icons next to the player's nameplate and/or in group chat. You can also color their name according to their role in the party and/or group chat.
To access this option, simply click "Character Configuration" > "Display Name Settings" > "General" to find all options.
Now your badges can be restored to the same appearance as in version 1.0 without the Linkshells banner selected, but here we are.
Another small but appreciated change is the ability to enchant everyone at once anywhere when using this ability in an inn.
For example, if you need to quickly change your glasses, but they are stored in your fancy dresser or rack, you can easily access them without interacting with any of them.
More content added
While attackers and MSQ fans are doing well in this patch, let's not forget the more casual content. Some of them were not included in patch 6.4, but there are still a few things worth waiting for.
The first is the content expansion of Island Sanctuary. New ranks have been added that unlock more features for your Sanctuary. Related to this is a new zone where you can explore and gather materials, as well as craft and grow new things.
We'll be publishing a guide to it all soon.
We can't forget Final Fantasy XIV's best content, Ocean Fishing. In patch 6.4 you can fish all the way to Hingashi. The only limitation is the need to complete the main quest of the "Stormblood" scenario.
With this new route, Ruby Route players can take on new travel quests and catch new fish! Of course, there are also new bonuses, achievements and rewards for completing content.
What's next for Final Fantasy XIV 6.4 and later?
Patch 6.45 content will be available in the next 2-3 months. This includes the next chapter of the Continued Hildibrand questline, as well as the next step in Relic Weapons.
This patch also includes the next step in Splendorous Tools for crafters/collections, which can be obtained by completing various bounties in Crystarium.
With patch 6.45 we will finally see new content for the Blue Mage Limited Work. Its max level will be raised to 80 and new spells, experiments, attacks and challenges will be available with new unique rewards.
Finally, this patch will also include the next dungeon variant and the Criterion dungeon: Mount Rokkon.
Variant Dungeon is an adventure where players can make their own decisions and explore a branching story. While Criterion Dungeon is a challenging 4 player game in both normal and Savage versions.
